"Tsumami Zaiku: An Artisan's Guide to Modern Day Kanzashi"
This project is headed by Ariel Loh, with nine other hana tsumami kanzashi makers acting as expert contributors. We hope to publish a print book! To do this, we have opened a store to sell kanzashi, origami, and other Japanese craft related products (see the store link above).

Visit our homepage for more information about our project, where we hope to bring many techniques to help beginning and more advanced kanzashi artists! You can read about the authors, get an idea of the content, and check out some pictures.
For a detailed look at the rules, see this post: Welcome to TZArtisans on DeviantART! Basically, this is a group for tsumami zaiku (TZ), not kanzashi (the hair stick), so any silk fabric folding using TZ techniques is welcome! All can join.

First-- Hi everyone! Hope you're enjoying TZArtisans, and that the school year is going well for you school people, that jobs are going ok, and life is good for everyone.

It's time for an update! This little post is an update on our book project and an invite to submit more TZ artworks!!

Anyway, we members of the TZ Artisan book project have not given up yet. We didn't make our goal for KickStarter, but we've revised our plans to include more international people! Yay! Now people from all around the world can buy the "rewards" from kickstarter (e.g. the TZ artwork & other pieces made by us) as fundraising pieces for our book project.

Here's the StoreEnvy:  www.tzartisan.storenvy.com
Facebook: www.facebook.com/tzartisan (give us a like! There's a cool raffle going on!)

OK, that's our project. Enough about us, now on to you! We'd love to see more projects-- old or new-- in the submission folders! Summer and Fall would love to see more of your lovely deviations, for example. Of course, non-seasonal TZ artwork are welcome too!!

Would any of you be interested in doing a TZ Hairpin challenge? :huggle: I'll be a little bit less busy during summer... so how about a summer TZ challenge? That'd give us until the end of June to design and make summer themed pin-- I'd be happy to feature the winners and runners-up here on this journal! For other prizes, any volunteers...? Some of you can draw!!

I just logged in and noticed that there is an expired invitation to join this group. I'm thankful for the kind invitation, however -- I'm not a kanzashi artisans, after all -- so I'm afraid I'm not suited to be a part of this group. Is it still possible for me to join?

Thank you!

If you like/appreciate the kind of accessories that are being submitted here, you're more than welcome :)
Kanzashi artisans/hobbyists enjoy feedback and such, after all.

I've just resent your invite :)

Thank you very much for the kind invitation.  Although I enjoy viewing them, I am unfortunately unable to make any kanzashi, so I'm afraid I would not suit this group.

You're most welcome to stay on as a watcher, or simply join the group to provide feedback and to encourage others who do make them :)
And, of course, to enjoy all the pretty things! :tighthug:

Hello, Hallo, Privet!
Danke (thank you) for the invitation however I have sadly had to decline it. Even though I have interest in Japanese fashion this isn't something I focus on. I motly look costumes, specifically historic ones.
I hope you all succeed in making this group wonderful and if I ever start taking a bigger interest in this then I'll be sure to drop back.
